Sometimes it's a struggle to fit all of the pieces we want in a small home. In my hunt to furnish my 400 square feet, I've found that a few strategic swaps can make a world of difference. Here are some ideas to help you think smaller and ultimately fit more:
Swap a traditional coffee table with a storage ottoman or a nesting table set: Storage ottomans provide a place to rest your feet while also offering hidden storage space for blankets, pillows, or other items. Nesting tables can be stacked together when not in use, occupying minimal floor space.

Replace a traditional desk with a wall-mounted or folding desk: Wall-mounted desks can be attached to the wall and folded down when needed, offering a compact workspace. Folding desks can be collapsed and stored away when not in use.

Swap a standard wardrobe with a storage system or a clothing rack: Storage systems with adjustable shelves, drawers, and hanging rods allow for efficient organization of clothes and accessories. Clothing racks provide a minimalist and open storage solution.
Remember, when selecting furniture for small spaces, consider the scale, proportions, and functionality of each piece. Opt for furniture with built-in storage options and multifunctional designs and you'll be surprised at how much roomier and more comfortable your space will feel.
